Stahlcar GPS Tracking Setup

These instructions will help you set up and start using your Stahlcar tracking device.
Please use the login and password printed on the box of your tracker. If you use different login details, we won’t be able to assist with troubleshooting.

Step 1: Insert SIM & Power On

  1. Insert your SIM card into the tracker.

  2. Power on the device.

Step 2: Send Setup Commands

From your mobile phone, send the following text messages to the SIM card number inside the tracker:

Tracking Platform Setup

For 10 digits Device ID - send it: IP s2.itracksafe.com 8000
For 11 digits Device ID - send it: IP s2.itracksafe.com 8800

APN Settings

  • For One NZ (Vodafone) - send: APN123456 vodafone

  • For 2Degrees or Spark - send: APN123456 internet

 

Step 3: Register Your Tracker Online

  1. Go to the Tracking Platform website - https://www.itracksafe.com

  2. Log in using the username and password on the box

  3. Open the top left of the page select “Add Device.”


  4. Fill in the following:

    • Device ID: the 10–11 digit number printed on your tracker

    • Name: what you’d like to call the device (for example, “Work Van” or your number plate)

    • Phone Number: the SIM card number in the device, starting with +64 (for example, 021xxxxxxx becomes +6421xxxxxxx)

  5. Click OK to save.

Step 4: Change Your Password (Recommended)

  1. Click your username in the top right corner.

  2. Go to Settings, then Password.

  3. Enter a new password of your choice.

Step 5: Connect & Start Tracking

  1. Plug the tracker into your vehicle.

  2. Leave it for 10–15 minutes to get its first GPS fix.

  3. Tracking will then be live.

Extra Information

  • The tracking position refreshes every 15 seconds by default (this can be changed in the platform).

  • Sometimes a new unit needs to be plugged in for 10–15 minutes before it starts reporting.
