Payment Methods
Several secure ways to pay, with the final options shown at checkout.
Stahlcar accepts major cards and a range of online payment options. The methods available for a particular order can depend on the delivery country, device, browser, order value and the payment provider's own eligibility checks.

Payment options you may see at checkout
The checkout page is the source of truth. It displays the methods currently available for your order before payment is completed.
Credit and debit cards
Pay directly through the secure checkout using an accepted card.
Express checkout
Compatible devices and browsers may offer a quicker checkout using saved payment and address details.
PayPal
Select PayPal at checkout and complete the payment through PayPal's own secure payment flow.
Afterpay
Eligible New Zealand customers may be able to divide the purchase into instalments through Afterpay.

What happens at checkout
A straightforward four-step process
You will see the full order total and the available payment choices before the order is submitted.
Review the cart
Confirm the product, quantity and any discount code before continuing.
Enter delivery details
The delivery country and address help determine shipping and available checkout options.
Choose payment
Select from the methods currently displayed for your order and device.
Receive confirmation
A successful order generates an on-screen confirmation and order email.
Cards and digital wallets
Enter the requested details in checkout or use a compatible wallet. Your card provider may ask for additional verification. A temporary pending authorisation can sometimes appear before the payment is fully processed.
PayPal
Choosing PayPal sends you through PayPal's payment process before returning you to the Stahlcar order confirmation. PayPal controls account access, payment approval and provider-side security checks.
Afterpay
Afterpay decides whether a customer and purchase are eligible. Stahlcar cannot override a decline, increase a spending limit or change an instalment schedule.
International cards and currency
The checkout shows the currency and final total before payment. An overseas card provider may apply its own conversion rate or foreign-transaction fee. Those charges are outside Stahlcar's control.
Payment security
Your payment is handled through secure checkout.
Stahlcar uses Shopify's checkout and integrated payment providers to process online payments. Stahlcar does not manually receive or store your full card number.
Always check that the address begins with the genuine stahlcar.nz website, use a trusted device and never send card details by email or through the contact form.

For an order-specific problem, include the order number when contacting Stahlcar.
Why is a payment method not showing?
The options can vary by delivery country, currency, device, browser, order value and provider eligibility. Apple Pay or Google Pay also require a compatible setup. The methods visible at the payment step are the ones currently available for that checkout.
When will my card be charged?
A successful card payment is normally confirmed or authorised during checkout. Your card provider may first show it as pending before the transaction is fully processed.
Can I get a GST invoice?
Yes. Stahlcar is New Zealand GST registered. Check the order confirmation and customer account first, or contact us with the order number if another copy is required.
How are approved refunds paid?
Approved refunds are normally sent back through the original payment method. Afterpay and other provider-based refunds are also reflected through the provider's system.
How long does a refund take?
Stahlcar can confirm when a refund has been issued, but the time before it appears is controlled by the card issuer or payment provider. It can take several business days.
What should I do if a payment is declined?
Check the card details, available funds, billing information and any verification prompt from the provider. Try the checkout again or use another displayed method. Stahlcar usually cannot see the exact decline reason.
Does Stahlcar store my full card number?
No. Online card details are entered into the secure checkout and handled by the payment system. Do not send card details through email, chat or the contact form.
Can I change the payment method after ordering?
A completed payment normally cannot simply be switched to another method. Contact Stahlcar promptly with the order number if the order was placed in error. The available solution depends on whether payment and fulfilment have already started.
