BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce Full-System Diagnostics from Your Phone
The Ancel BD300 is a dedicated Bluetooth diagnostic adapter for supported BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles. It gives a compatible Android or iOS phone access to manufacturer-specific control modules rather than stopping at generic check-engine codes.
It can read and clear faults, display live data and perform selected BMW maintenance procedures including battery registration, CBS service correction, oil reset, electronic parking-brake reset and throttle relearn where supported.

The BD300 combines two different levels of coverage. On supported BMW Group vehicles it provides manufacturer-level system access. On many other OBD2 vehicles it can still carry out standard engine and emissions functions, but it will not provide full-system access to those other makes.
The phone supplies the screen and user interface, so menus and live data are easier to view than on a small budget handheld. The adapter remains small enough to keep in a glovebox.
Best Suited For
The BD300 suits BMW and MINI owners who want affordable full-system fault-code access and the common maintenance functions used during normal ownership. It is a good choice for battery replacement, service reminders and investigating ABS, airbag or transmission warning lights without buying a larger standalone scanner.
BMW Group Full-System Diagnostics
Depending on the exact vehicle and fitted equipment, accessible modules may include:

Fault Codes and Live Data
The app can read manufacturer-specific codes from supported modules, clear codes after repairs, display ECU information and show live data. This is useful when the warning light is not the check-engine light.
Examples include comparing wheel-speed values during an ABS fault, checking transmission data, viewing battery voltage during starting, monitoring coolant temperature or identifying which restraint component has stored an airbag fault.
Clearing a code does not repair the cause. If the fault remains present, the warning light or code will normally return. Codes should be used as the starting point for testing rather than treated as automatic instructions to replace a part.
BMW Service Functions

Battery Registration: Records that a replacement battery has been installed so the BMW charging strategy can account for the new battery.

CBS Service Correction: Resets supported Condition Based Servicing items such as engine oil, brake fluid, front or rear brake service and other monitored maintenance items.

Oil Service Reset: Starts a new oil-service interval after servicing.

Electronic Parking Brake Reset: Carries out supported rear-brake service procedures.

Throttle Relearn: Relearns the electronic throttle after cleaning, disconnection or replacement where supported.

Transmission Adaptation Clear: Clears selected learned gearbox values on compatible vehicles when the procedure is appropriate.
Battery Registration Is Not Battery Coding
Registration tells the vehicle that a new battery has been installed. If the replacement battery has a different capacity or chemistry, additional coding may be required. The BD300 should not be assumed to perform every battery-type coding change on every BMW.
Generic OBD2 Functions on Other Makes
On compatible non-BMW vehicles, the BD300 can be used for standard engine and emissions diagnosis. Functions may include reading and clearing engine codes, live data, freeze frame, emissions readiness, oxygen-sensor test results, on-board monitor results, EVAP test requests and vehicle information.
This does not give full ABS, airbag, transmission or body-system access on other makes. The manufacturer-level package is specifically for BMW Group vehicles.
Additional App Features
The Ancel app may provide a custom live-data dashboard, trip records, battery-voltage monitoring, performance timing and configurable voice alerts for values such as vehicle speed or coolant temperature.
These app features use data available through the vehicle and are not a substitute for dedicated mechanical or battery testing equipment.
No Active Tests or Universal Coding
The BD300 is intended for diagnosis and selected maintenance procedures. It should not be purchased for bi-directional component tests, key programming, universal feature coding, ECU flashing or dealer-level online programming.
Phone, App and Internet Requirements
A compatible Android or iOS phone or tablet is required. The Ancel app must be installed and the device paired through the app rather than through a generic Bluetooth menu.
Internet access is required for initial installation, account setup and software updates. The app and future mobile operating-system compatibility are controlled by Ancel, Apple and Google.

Full-system coverage is for supported BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles. The exact starting year and available modules vary by chassis and control unit.
