The BMM V4.0 is designed around BMW Group electronics. It can scan supported modules throughout the vehicle, read and clear fault codes, display live data, run component tests and carry out many maintenance, adaptation and component-replacement procedures.
Compared with the BMM V3.0, it adds a larger touchscreen, direct WiFi updating, rechargeable Android hardware and two additional vehicle software downloads. The BMM V3.0 remains the lower-cost choice for users who prefer tactile buttons.

System Diagnostics and Active Tests
Depending on the vehicle, accessible modules may include engine, transmission, ABS, SRS airbags, DSC, electronic parking brake, steering, body control, climate control, battery management, lighting, instrument cluster, cameras, driver-assistance systems and diesel emissions.
Active tests can operate supported pumps, windows, wipers, fans, injectors, transmission solenoids, relays, valves and other electronic outputs to help isolate faults.
Service Functions
Service functions include oil reset, electronic parking brake service, steering-angle calibration, throttle relearn, DPF regeneration, injector coding, ABS bleeding, battery registration and management, DSC service and TPMS functions.
Further BMW Group procedures include engine and transmission adaptations, engine idle adjustment, mileage verification, VIN verification and other model-specific functions.
BMW ECU Functions
The BMM V4.0 supports selected BMW coding, adaptation, teach-in and control-module procedures on compatible vehicles, including E, F and G chassis models.
Important: It is not a universal BMW flashing or online programming tool. Security access and model-specific ECU restrictions can limit functions.
Hardware and WiFi Updates
The tool uses a 5-inch Android touchscreen, quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 64GB storage and a 5000mAh battery for around six hours of use. Updates install directly over WiFi, with no annual subscription charge.
