The CR Max is the wired cornerstone of iCarsoft’s professional CR tablet range. It connects directly to the vehicle through the main diagnostic cable and can scan supported electronic modules throughout the car, display live data, operate components and carry out advanced service or coding procedures.
It offers essentially the same diagnostic platform as the wireless CR Max BT in a simpler cabled format. This makes it a strong-value option for workshops and serious home users who do not need to carry the tablet around the vehicle during testing.
Best Suited For
The CR Max is best suited to independent workshops, mobile mechanics, fleet users, used-vehicle dealers and experienced home users who work across a wide range of vehicle makes.
It is particularly useful where full-system scanning, active testing, selected ECU coding and a large service-function package are needed, but wireless VCI operation is not essential.

Full-System Diagnostics
The CR Max can communicate with supported control modules throughout the vehicle, including engine, transmission, ABS, SRS airbags, body control, electronic parking brake, steering, suspension, air conditioning, battery management, lighting, doors, parking assistance and other fitted systems.
It can read and clear fault codes, view ECU information, display live data and graphs, retrieve freeze-frame information and run a complete vehicle scan.
Bi-Directional Control and Active Tests
Bi-directional control allows the CR Max to send commands directly to supported modules and components. Depending on the vehicle, this may include operating the ABS pump, fuel pump, cooling fan, throttle, windows, locks, lights, relays, valves and other electronically controlled outputs.
This helps confirm whether a component and its control circuit respond correctly rather than relying only on a stored fault code.
Selected ECU Coding
The CR Max includes coding and adaptation support for selected BMW, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai/Kia, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge and Subaru vehicles.
Important: Coding depth varies by make, model, year and module. The CR Max is not a universal ECU programming, software-flashing or online dealer-coding tool.
Service and Maintenance Functions
The CR Max includes 50 service-function categories. Common functions include oil reset, electronic parking brake service, steering-angle calibration, throttle relearn, DPF regeneration, injector coding, ABS bleeding, battery registration and TPMS reset.
Additional supported procedures may include transmission adaptations, air-suspension calibration, air-conditioning service, headlamp adjustment, AdBlue functions, crankshaft relearn, high-voltage battery procedures, radar or camera calibration and other manufacturer-specific routines.
Hardware and Connectivity
The CR Max uses a 7-inch 1024 × 600 touchscreen, Android operating system, quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 64GB storage and a 5000mAh battery rated for up to approximately five hours of continuous use.
It connects to the vehicle through the supplied 16-pin main cable. CAN-FD is supported as standard, while DoIP requires the correct optional accessory.
Updates are installed directly through WiFi and remain free for the life of the tool.

The CR Max covers 58 major European, Asian, American and Australian vehicle makes. System, active-test, coding and service coverage varies by vehicle.
