The CR Max P is the highest-spec model in the main iCarsoft CR Max range. Its separate wireless VCI stays connected to the vehicle while the tablet can be moved around the workshop, used beside the component being tested or carried into the passenger compartment while viewing live data.
It can scan supported modules throughout the vehicle, operate components directly, carry out service and adaptation procedures, and perform selected coding tasks after some repairs or component replacements. The large display makes module lists, live graphs, service instructions and diagnostic reports easier to work with than on a smaller handheld.
Best Suited For
The CR Max P is best suited to independent workshops, mobile mechanics, used-vehicle dealers, fleet operators and experienced home users who work across several makes and need more than ordinary code reading.
Its value is strongest when you regularly diagnose systems beyond the engine, test components directly, carry out service procedures and work with newer CAN-FD or DoIP vehicles.

Full-System Diagnostics
The CR Max P can communicate with supported electronic control modules throughout the vehicle rather than being limited to generic engine diagnostics.
Depending on the vehicle, accessible systems may include engine, transmission, ABS, SRS airbags, electronic parking brake, steering, body control, air conditioning, suspension, parking assistance, battery management, lighting, doors and windows, infotainment, driver-assistance systems and other manufacturer-specific modules.
It can read and clear fault codes, display ECU information, retrieve freeze-frame data, view live values and graphs, and carry out a complete vehicle scan.
Bi-Directional Control and Active Tests
Bi-directional control allows the CR Max P to send commands directly to supported vehicle modules and components. Depending on the vehicle, this may include operating the fuel pump, windows, locks, lights, cooling fan, throttle, mirrors, ABS components, relays, injectors, coils and solenoids.
This gives you a practical way to separate a faulty component from a wiring, control or module issue.
Selected ECU Coding
The CR Max P supports selected coding, configuration and component-matching functions for BMW, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai/Kia, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge and Subaru vehicles.
Depending on the vehicle, this may include writing configuration into a replacement module, matching components, recalibrating parameters or enabling supported convenience settings.
Important: Coding depth varies by vehicle and module. The CR Max P is not a universal ECU programming, software-flashing or online dealer-coding tool.
Service and Maintenance Functions
The CR Max P includes nine commonly used service functions and 41 advanced categories, giving a total of 50 service-function groups.
Common functions include oil reset, throttle relearn, electronic parking brake service, steering-angle calibration, DPF regeneration, injector coding, ABS bleeding, TPMS reset and battery registration. Additional routines may include air-suspension calibration, transmission adaptation, AdBlue functions, crankshaft relearn, high-voltage battery service, turbocharger relearn, radar and camera learning, control-unit reset and other vehicle-specific procedures.
CAN-FD and DoIP Support
CAN-FD is used on a growing number of modern vehicle platforms, including selected later GM and Chrysler-group vehicles. DoIP is used on selected modern BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo platforms.
The CR Max P includes both protocols as standard, giving it better access to newer vehicle communication systems than older scan tools built around conventional CAN alone.
Hardware, Reports and Updates
The CR Max P uses a 10-inch 1280 × 800 touchscreen, Android operating system, quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 64GB storage and a 10,000mAh battery rated for up to approximately eight hours of continuous use.
Diagnostic history can be retained and reports can be saved, shared or printed through a Windows computer. The built-in Feedback function can send vehicle data and diagnostic issues to iCarsoft support.
Software updates are installed directly through WiFi. Lifetime free updates are included with no annual subscription.
Older Vehicle Adapters
Selected older Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Sprinter vehicles can be connected using separately purchased 38-pin, 20-pin or 14-pin adapters. Adapter support does not guarantee every function on every older vehicle.

The CR Max P covers 58 major European, Asian, American and Australian vehicle makes. System, active-test, coding and service coverage varies by make, model, year and fitted module.
