Stahlcar Konnwei App Diagnostic Range
Affordable Full-System Codes and Live Data Across Selected Brands
The Konnwei MaxOBD is a compact Bluetooth scanner for compatible Android and iOS devices. On its listed vehicle brands, it can access major control systems throughout the vehicle, read and clear manufacturer-specific fault codes and display real-time data through the MaxOBD app.
It is positioned between a generic engine-only OBD2 dongle and a higher-priced full-system tool with service functions or active tests.

A basic Bluetooth OBD2 reader generally communicates only with the standard engine and emissions system. MaxOBD uses manufacturer software for its listed brands, allowing it to check systems such as ABS, airbags and transmission control where supported.
The phone or tablet supplies the screen, battery and internet connection. This keeps the hardware small and easy to carry, but the MaxOBD app is required for operation.
Best Suited For
MaxOBD suits customers who own vehicles on its supported-brand list and want affordable access to fault codes and live data from several vehicle systems. It is a good option when service resets, active tests and coding are not required.
Full-System Diagnostics
Depending on the vehicle, accessible systems may include:
- Engine and emissions control
- Automatic transmission
- ABS and electronic stability control
- SRS airbags and restraints
- Steering-angle and steering systems
- Air conditioning and climate control
- Adaptive cruise control
- Body and central locking systems
- Headlight and lighting modules
- Audio and infotainment systems
- Suspension and other fitted control modules
Fault Codes and Vehicle Health Reports
The app can scan supported modules, read manufacturer-specific fault codes and clear codes after repairs. A full scan can be saved as a vehicle health report and shared from the phone.
This can help identify why an ABS, airbag, transmission or body-system warning is on and record which modules contained codes before work begins.
Clearing a code does not fix the underlying fault. If the condition is still present, the warning light or code will usually return.
Live Data
Konnwei lists access to more than 1000 possible data items across supported vehicles. The exact values available depend on the modules fitted and the information released by the manufacturer.
Useful examples may include wheel speeds, coolant temperature, fuel trims, throttle position, battery voltage, pressure sensors, steering angle, switch status and transmission values.
Live data can help confirm whether a sensor is changing logically and compare related values. It still needs to be interpreted alongside fault codes and physical testing.
What MaxOBD Does Not Include
MaxOBD is a code-reading and live-data tool. It does not include service-reset functions, general bi-directional active tests, universal coding or module programming. Choose KDIAG for common resets or a higher-level tool for active testing.
Wireless Connection
Bluetooth 5.2 provides a listed working distance of up to approximately 10 metres in suitable conditions. Actual range can be reduced by vehicle bodywork, interference and the mobile device.
The interface is powered through the OBD2 port. It should be removed when not required if the vehicle keeps the diagnostic socket powered while parked, as any connected device can contribute to battery drain over a long period.
Software Update Costs
Full-system diagnostics for listed brands: Included.
Konnwei lists lifetime app updates for MaxOBD, with no annual vehicle-software update fee for the included code and live-data functions.
Phone, App and Internet Requirements
A compatible Android or iOS phone or tablet is required. The MaxOBD app must be downloaded from the relevant app store and used to connect to the interface.
Internet access is required for setup, software downloads and updates. Future app availability and operating-system compatibility are controlled by Konnwei, Apple and Google.
Supported Brands
Listed full-system coverage includes selected vehicles from Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, GM, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault, SEAT, Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota and Volkswagen, plus related brands.
This is not unrestricted global coverage. Exact model-year and module support varies. Confirm the specific vehicle before ordering when a particular system is essential.
