Simple App-Based OBD2 Engine Diagnostics
The DA200 is a compact Bluetooth OBD2 adapter for reading engine fault codes, viewing live data and checking basic vehicle information through a smartphone app. It is designed for simple check engine light diagnostics on OBD2-compliant vehicles.
This is not a full-system scan tool. It does not provide dedicated access to ABS, SRS airbags, transmission, body control modules or manufacturer-specific service functions. For those jobs, choose a full-system handheld or tablet scan tool instead.
Best Suited For
The DA200 is best suited to drivers who want a small, affordable adapter for checking engine codes and viewing live data from their phone.
It is useful for checking why the check engine light is on, clearing basic engine fault codes after repairs, and monitoring simple live engine data while driving or fault finding.
Key Features
- Bluetooth OBD2 adapter for smartphone-based diagnostics
- Reads and clears engine fault codes on supported OBD2 vehicles
- Displays live engine data through a compatible app
- Supports freeze frame information where available
- Compact size for glovebox storage
- Works with supported iOS and Android devices
- App-based interface for quick checks and basic monitoring
Engine Diagnostics
The DA200 connects to the vehicle’s standard OBD2 port and communicates with supported engine diagnostic data. It can read and clear generic engine fault codes, display basic fault information and show selected live data such as RPM, coolant temperature, vehicle speed, voltage and sensor readings where supported by the app and vehicle.
It is a handy tool for quick checks, but it should not be confused with a professional scan tool. Coverage is limited to OBD2 engine diagnostics and app-supported functions.
App-Based Operation
The DA200 works through a compatible mobile app. App features, interface, fault code explanations and any AI-assisted information are controlled by the app provider and may vary over time.
For best results, check app compatibility with your phone before ordering. Some functions may require app permissions, an internet connection or app account setup.
Vehicle Compatibility
The DA200 is intended for OBD2-compliant vehicles with a standard 16-pin diagnostic port. In New Zealand, many petrol vehicles from the early 2000s onwards and many diesel vehicles from later years support OBD2, but this can vary by make, model and import market.
It is not suitable for older vehicles that are not OBD2 compliant, vehicles requiring manufacturer-specific diagnostic access, or customers needing service resets, ABS/SRS diagnostics, DPF functions, battery registration or coding.

Is This the Right Scan Tool for You?
The DA200 is the right choice if you want a simple app-based adapter for basic engine code reading and live data. It is small, affordable and easy to keep in the car for quick checks.
If you want deeper diagnostics, service resets or access to ABS, SRS, transmission and other vehicle systems, one of our handheld or all-makes scan tools will be a better fit.
