Stahlcar Driver Control Range
Nine Driving Modes and App-Controlled Throttle Response
The EliteDrive Smart Throttle Controller is a vehicle-specific plug-in controller that changes how quickly a compatible electronic accelerator responds to pedal input. It can sharpen throttle response for everyday driving and overtaking, or soften it for towing, slippery conditions and low-speed off-road control.
It provides nine driving modes, 60 adjustment levels, Bluetooth app control, one-touch overtake boost and a PIN-protected throttle lock without remapping the ECU or changing engine power.

Modern vehicles use a drive-by-wire accelerator pedal. Instead of a mechanical cable, the pedal sends an electronic signal to the engine-control system. The EliteDrive connects into this pedal circuit and modifies the response curve in real time.
In sharper settings, the same pedal movement produces a quicker throttle request, reducing the lazy or delayed feeling common in many modern vehicles. Softer settings reduce sensitivity, making it easier to meter power smoothly on loose surfaces, in wet weather or while manoeuvring a trailer.
Best Suited For
The EliteDrive Smart suits drivers who want the widest range of throttle settings and prefer controlling the unit from a phone rather than mounting a permanent display on the dashboard. It is particularly useful for utes, 4WDs, tow vehicles, turbo-diesels and vehicles with noticeable accelerator delay.
Driving Modes
-
Normal: Returns the pedal response to the original factory setting.
-
Comfort: Provides a smoother but more responsive setting for everyday driving.
-
Economy: Reduces pedal sensitivity to help deliver power more gradually in traffic, wet conditions or when teaching a new driver.
-
Sport: Sharpens initial response while remaining suitable for normal road use.
-
Sport+: Provides a stronger response for highway driving, hills and more enthusiastic use.
-
Race: Uses the fastest response curve for maximum immediacy.
-
Tow: Provides controlled response under load so the driver can access available torque without an abrupt pedal feel.
-
Offroad and Crawl: Softens response for rough ground, sand, mud or slippery surfaces where small pedal movements need to be controlled carefully.
-
iAutomatic: Adjusts throttle response automatically according to how the vehicle is being driven.
App Control and Fine Adjustment
The EliteDrive app allows the mode and sensitivity level to be changed from a compatible Android or iOS phone. Each main mode can be fine-tuned rather than forcing the driver to accept one fixed response curve.
This is useful because the same setting can feel very different between a small petrol hatchback, a turbo-diesel ute and a high-powered performance vehicle. The controller can be adjusted until the pedal feels natural rather than overly sharp.
Additional Functions
-
One-Touch Overtake Boost: Temporarily selects the strongest response without changing the normal driving mode.
-
Throttle Lock: Uses a personal PIN to disable accelerator response as an additional theft deterrent.
-
Automatic and Manual Settings: Response curves can be matched more closely to the vehicleβs transmission type.
-
Stealth Installation: Once installed near the pedal, normal adjustment can be handled through the app without a permanent control panel on display.
Towing, 4WD and Everyday Driving
When towing, a controller does not create extra torque, but it can make the engineβs existing response easier to access without pressing the pedal as far. Softer settings can also make reversing and low-speed manoeuvring more controlled.
Off road, reducing throttle sensitivity can help prevent sudden wheelspin when the driverβs foot moves over rough ground. On the road, Sport or Comfort settings can reduce the hesitation felt when entering traffic, accelerating from a roundabout or passing another vehicle.
What It Does Not Do
The EliteDrive does not add horsepower or torque. It does not alter turbo boost, fuel delivery, ignition timing or the engine ECU calibration.
It changes how quickly the vehicle requests the power already available. It is also not a scan tool and cannot read fault codes or reset warning lights.
Installation and Setup
The controller plugs into the accelerator-pedal connector using a vehicle-specific harness. No cutting, soldering or ECU programming is required.
Before disconnecting the accelerator pedal: Turn the vehicle off, remove the key or keep the smart key away from the vehicle, and allow the electronics to shut down for at least 10 minutes. Unplugging the pedal while the vehicle is still awake can trigger a check-engine light or limp mode.
After installation, begin with a mild setting and increase response gradually. For safety, make adjustments while parked rather than operating the app while driving.
Some pedal connectors are easy to reach, while others require removal of a small trim panel. The controller can be removed later and the original connection restored.
Vehicle Compatibility
This is not a universal one-plug controller. The supplied harness must match the electronic accelerator connector fitted to the vehicle.
Compatibility covers a broad range of petrol, diesel, turbo, supercharged, hybrid, automatic, manual, CVT, DCT and DSG vehicles, but not every model is supported. The correct make, model, year and engine details must be confirmed before ordering.
