Stahlcar Tyre Monitoring Range
Four-Tyre Pressure and Temperature Monitoring on Your Phone
This Bluetooth tyre-pressure monitoring system uses four external valve sensors to send live pressure and temperature readings to a compatible Android or iOS phone. It provides adjustable pressure alerts without adding a separate display to the dashboard.
The system is suitable for many cars, light commercial vehicles, trailers and motorhomes where all four sensors remain within reliable Bluetooth range of the phone.

The sensors replace the normal valve caps and transmit directly to the phone. Because no central display or receiver box is required, installation is straightforward and the vehicle interior remains uncluttered.
The system is designed to warn of pressure changes while driving. It does not replace checking the manufacturerβs recommended cold pressures with an accurate manual gauge.
Best Suited For
This system suits customers who want four-wheel tyre monitoring through a phone and do not want another screen mounted on the dashboard. It can be useful for cars, work vehicles, caravans and shorter trailer combinations where the phone maintains a stable connection to every sensor.
Live Pressure and Temperature
The app displays each wheel separately so the driver can compare all four readings. Pressure can be shown in common units, and the sensor temperature is displayed alongside it.
The temperature is measured at the external valve sensor. It can show general changes around the wheel but is not the exact internal air, tread or tyre-carcass temperature.
Cold Pressure and Pressure Rise
Vehicle tyre pressures are normally specified when the tyres are cold. Pressure rises as the tyre warms during driving, especially under load or at highway speed.
Set the low-pressure alarm below the correct cold pressure and allow enough margin above it for normal pressure rise. An overly narrow alarm range can cause repeated alerts even when the tyres are behaving normally.
Ambient temperature also affects pressure. A tyre may read lower on a cold morning than it did the previous afternoon without having developed a leak.
App Alerts
-
Low Pressure: Warns when a wheel falls below the selected minimum.
-
High Pressure: Warns when pressure rises above the selected maximum.
-
Temperature Warning: Warns when the sensor temperature exceeds the selected threshold where supported by the app.
-
Low Sensor Battery: Indicates that a valve-sensor battery is becoming weak.
-
Missing or Stale Reading: Helps identify a sensor that is out of range, asleep or no longer communicating.
Phone Notifications Depend on App Permissions
The monitoring app needs Bluetooth permission and must be allowed to run in the background. Some phones stop background apps aggressively to save battery.
Disable battery optimisation for the TPMS app and allow notifications if alerts are expected while another app is open or the screen is locked. Phone settings and operating-system updates can affect notification behaviour.
External Valve Sensors
The sensors screw onto the valve stems in place of the normal caps. Installation does not require removing the tyre from the wheel, and the sensor batteries can be replaced later.
Anti-theft nuts are fitted behind the sensors and tightened with the supplied spanner. Keep the spanner in the vehicle because a sensor must be loosened before adding air to the tyre.
Valve-Stem Condition
External sensors add weight and leverage to the valve stem. They are best used on sound metal stems or suitable short rubber stems in good condition.
Do not fit them to cracked, perished or very long flexible stems. Check that each sensor clears the wheel, hubcap, brake components and bodywork.
Bluetooth Range on Trailers and Motorhomes
Each sensor communicates directly with the phone. Bluetooth range is affected by distance, the vehicle body, wheel position, interference and the phoneβs Bluetooth performance.
On a normal passenger vehicle, all four sensors are usually relatively close to the phone. On long motorhomes, caravans or trailers, the rear sensors may be too far away or may connect intermittently.
Phone placement can help. Mounting the phone centrally and away from metal screening may improve reception. This system does not include a separate long-range repeater.
Installation and Sensor Assignment
- Check all four tyres manually and set them to the vehicle manufacturerβs recommended cold pressures.
- Install the TPMS app and allow Bluetooth and notification permissions.
- Fit the anti-theft nuts to the valve stems.
- Install each labelled sensor on the matching wheel position.
- Tighten the anti-theft nuts against the sensors.
- Check each valve connection with soapy water for bubbles or leakage.
- Open the app and confirm that all four wheel positions display correctly.
- Set suitable pressure and temperature alert limits.
- Drive carefully and verify that the readings update consistently.
Tyre Rotation
If the wheels are rotated, update the sensor positions in the app or move the sensors to the matching wheel labels. Otherwise the app may show the correct pressure against the wrong wheel position.
Sensor Batteries
The external sensors use replaceable coin-cell batteries. Battery life depends on use, temperature and storage.
When replacing a battery, work in a clean dry area and ensure the sealing ring is positioned correctly before refitting the sensor cover. Recheck the valve connection for leaks after reinstalling the sensor.
What the System Does Not Replace
TPMS does not inspect tread depth, sidewall cracking, cuts, bulges, wheel damage or valve condition. It cannot prevent a sudden tyre failure.
Continue checking cold pressures with an accurate manual gauge and inspect the tyres regularly. Stop safely and inspect the tyre if the app reports a rapid pressure loss.

Phone-Based or Dedicated Display?
Choose this four-sensor system if you want pressure and temperature on your phone with no additional dashboard display.
Choose a dedicated display system when alerts must remain visible without running an app, or when the rear sensors are too far from the phone for reliable Bluetooth reception.
